Bathroom storage helps keep morning routines in order

Inbuilt home entertainment units are great places to store the kids’ board games, DVDs and online gaming paraphernalia, and hide the cables.

A cupboard right next to the garage is the perfect drop spot for school bags.

Cupboards off the hallway give you easy, out-the-door access to sporting equipment and weekend gear.

Inbuilt desks and study areas in kids retreats keep books, stationery and homework in one place.

A mud room between the garage and the house gives you a place to hang coats, store sports gear and even have a nook for four-legged friends to sleep. Inbuilt storage can be as simple as laundry bins and hooks for school bags, or as elaborate as a room with floor-to-ceiling shelves and a trough for rinsing dirty sports gear.

Laundry can be improved with drying rails, pull-out bins for dirty laundry, overhead cupboards and shelves, and a space large enough for the clothes basket to sit on the benchtop.

A wide, sleek bathroom vanity with plenty of drawers below the sink and shelves behind the mirror keeps the benchtop free of clutter, and keeps things organised and within reach during the morning rush.
