Hickinbotham Family Community Fund

About the Fund

The Hickinbotham Family Community Fund is a commitment by the Hickinbotham Group to make up to $500,000 available for community grants in South Australia. The Fund celebrates outstanding individuals and grassroots organisations that have made remarkable contributions to South Australian communities.

Categories

The Fund features two categories:

  • North Star – recognising the achievements of outstanding individuals who embody the community spirit of South Australia. Individual recipients must choose a local not-for-profit community group to receive the grant funds on their behalf. The chosen community group must be acceptable to Hickinbotham Group in its absolute discretion.
  • Community Grant – providing financial support to not-for-profit organisations and community clubs for projects that benefit South Australian communities.

Eligibility

Community Grant applicants should be not-for-profit community organisations or clubs based in South Australia. Priority will be given to grassroots organisations in communities connected to Hickinbotham developments (initially the Roseworthy and surrounding regions).

North Star nominations may be made by any person in respect of an individual who has made a remarkable contribution to their South Australian community.

Hickinbotham reserves the right to determine eligibility in its absolute discretion.

How to apply or nominate

Interested community groups or individuals wishing to apply or make a nomination may:

No formal application form is required. Hickinbotham may request further information to assess an application or nomination.

Decision-making

All decisions regarding the Fund, including which applications or nominations are successful, the amount of any grant, and the timing of any award, are made by the Hickinbotham Group in its absolute discretion. Submitting an application or nomination does not create any entitlement, right or legitimate expectation to receive a grant. Hickinbotham is not required to provide reasons for its decisions and is under no obligation to award any particular number or value of grants in any period.

Grant amounts and timing

There is no fixed annual allocation. Grants of any amount may be awarded at any time until the $500,000 commitment is fulfilled. Hickinbotham retains discretion to determine the number, value and timing of grants.

General

Grants will be paid by the Hickinbotham Group. The word "Fund" refers to a commitment to make grants, not to a separately constituted fund or trust. The Fund may be varied, suspended or discontinued at any time at Hickinbotham's sole discretion. Hickinbotham accepts no liability in connection with the operation of the Fund, the assessment of applications, or any decision to award or not award a grant. Successful grant recipients may be required to acknowledge the Hickinbotham Family Community Fund in publicity or promotional material relating to their project. Award and grant recipients consent to the Hickinbotham Group using their name, images, likeness, and application details for promotional purposes related to the Fund.
